LONG TIME NO POST... coming back real soon

It has been just over a month since I posted. Thank you for hanging in with me. I've had two surgeries I wasn't expecting and a few other life hiccups! Things are smoothing out now and it feels good to be getting the wind back into my sails.

Like most of you, I am currently busy with visiting family and friends and enjoying the beautiful summer weather. This is such a wonderful time of year.
Missy 'helping' with a small Minky Project
I've done a little 'hooking' while I've been MIA from BlogLand, and also designed a couple of small quilted projects. This is what I'll be sharing with you soon. Until then. . . I hope you are having a wonderful summer with loads of time to stitch!

PUTTING IT TOGETHER. . . Need suggestions for tool storage

WHEW! It took me a while to follow the "simple directions" and get this new vacuum put together. It may be a little hard to push around, but wow does this thing have suction!!! I think I'm going to like it. It is a 'sealed' system and I know I'm liking that part!

Pieces and the extra *stuff*
Now to figure out how to store all the odd bits and extra pieces. The only on-board tools are a little brush and the crevice tool. Everything else is going to need an easy storage place. I'm thinking maybe make a bag of some sort that can hold all the extras and then be hung on the back of a door or maybe in the garage. Perhaps making it out of mesh, or partly mesh, so the contents would be more visable, would be a good idea.  It wouldn't be too useful if I forget what is in this bag. lol.
How does everyone else handle this? Anyone have any nifty ideas on how to store all this stuff?? Thanks for any help you can offer.

ATaDah! It's together!
Until next time, guess I'll go clean house. Afterall, I do have a new vacuum to break in. lol. Up next are some hooky projects; knitting for Wounded Warriors; and, Orchids blooming.  What are YOU up to this week??

Thank you so much for stopping in to visit!

COTSG: Choosing Fabrics & Fresh Lemons

For the new Inklingo mystery - Case Of The Secret Garden - we need a light, medium, dark, and an accent. This is what I have so far:

While mulling over my fabric choices I decided to go out and pick some lemons off my tree. It is so heavy with fruit that a couple of branches are threatening to break. I brought a basket full inside. Hmmm, the lemons smell so gooooooood! Next thing I knew I was making an apple/cranberry pie with lemon and almonds. Yummy. It just came out of the oven and the whole house smells delightful with cinnamon, nutmeg and fresh lemons. I wish you were here to smell it... we could enjoy some with a cuppa tea.

BTW, do you know the trick of getting the most juice from your lemons n limes? Put the lemon into the microwave for about 10 seconds! That's it. The peel is easier to zest and the juice just pours from it. Since I only needed a little juice for my pie, I used this little citrus juicer I made... way back in 1980! lol. But it's handy and easy to use. Do you have something a little ancient in your kitchen that you really enjoy using?

Until next time. . . I'm off to check out that cooling pie and dig through my stash a little more. What are YOU up to?

WIP Weds... a small project, but 1st DEBATE is tonight

As it is WIP Wednesday, I was going to sew, but with the Presidential Debates beginning tonight I will be tuning in to the Tube.  If they show any commercials, perhaps some sewing can be squeezed in.
Placemats n matching napkins: new project
A old project was re-started yesterday and I hope to share it with you very soon. . .Until next time, I hope you have loads of time to create something that makes your heart sing!

SAND CASTLE ART. . . Competition in San Diego

Quick note: BLOG-HOP on my blog
 CLOSED at NOON today.
Thank you to everyone who participated and left comments.
WINNERs will be announced TOMORROW, Tuesday!
===============================

Last Friday was the "U.S. Sand Sculpting Challenge and 3D Art Expo". It was held on one of the piers in San Diego Harbor. It was so interesting to see it while in the set-up phase. Artists from all over the world assembled for this competition.  I have seen beautiful sand art before, but never in-process. It was so interesting to see it from the beginning and to speak with some of the artists. A wonderful day... sit back, there are quite a few pictures to enjoy.
Artist's name was not credited for this amazing piece of sculpture. Sad.
1) Build a form, 2) Fill with sand & pound it down tight!
Another form taking shape
Karen Fralich working a shovel for initial shaping.

Karen & Cyn - Karen was so fun to talk to. She is a pro and this is her livelyhood. She's won many awards!
This guy was so fun: said I could take a pic, but I had to bring him a BEER... a COLD one! lol
Look close on the left [near his face], he is sculpting a 'loo'. It's a replica of his DD's Doll House.
Even Channel 9 News was there taking some "B-Roll" [I think that's the term]
Look at the size of his uplink attenna!
An action shot: this shows how/what 'pounding sand' is... and what hard work it is!
Watch those feet with that Iron Pounder!
BIG play space for the kids and all sorts of tools for them to try out... live band in the background.
All pictures taken with permission of participants.

Hope you enjoyed the Sand Art.  Until next time. . . let's go stitch something. For me it will be putting a binding on the QAYG "Beasty" - what will it be for you?

WOWZER ... Blog Has A New Face...

When I signed in today a little message popped up. Looked like it might have some new design opportunities for my blog... and it did! After just a few clicks, I now have a totally NEW LOOK! Now that was fun and totally frustration free! lol

I had tried this before a few times but got 'lost' in the HTML or whatever language it was using. LOL. This makeover just took a few mouse clicks! I love it when something is changed to be easy and simple!

Today I'm printing up more Inklingo diamond shapes for some buddettes I'm trading with. I'll post another picture of these cute little diamond stars after I make more progress.

Hope you like the "face lift" my blog received today. I really like the blue sky and soft white clouds that are in the new border--reminds me of driving down the road which is something I really like to do.

Thank you for stopping by & have a nice day everyone...

Hugs,

Cyn; -)

YIPPEE-SKIPPEE: Network up and running. . .

Hello World!

Let's see, it's been since August that I've posted! WOWZER! I have experienced more than a few putter problems at my end of the keyboard and I was ill for a few months which really slowed me down...lol...so, it has taken this long to get things going again. Persistance, that's the key! LOL

I will be u/l pics real soon and bringing the blog up to date... but meanwhile, just wanted to say, "Hey!" to everyone and to send special thanks to all of those who left comments and emailed me privately with their well-wishes. Thank you so much!

More to follow, soon!

Hugs,

Cyn;-)
